Puppy Contract Policies

Our policies reflect our mission & values and ensures that each puppy is placed in the best environment for them to flourish.

Use of Dog

Canine is to be purchased as a family companion or for tasks fitting to its breed such as a therapy dog, search and rescue, or herding.  The dog is not purchased for resale, nor will it be used or trained for activities that are illegal or for which is not suited by reason, temperament, or confirmation.  Specifically, it will not be used as a guard or attack dog, or to hunt or fight other animals.

Spay/Neuter

Permanent ownership of each puppy is contingent upon the puppy being spayed/neutered when they reach the appropriate age.

Health Guarantee

Each puppy is sold in healthy & sound condition at the time of sale.  We offer a 1-year genetic health guarantee for untreatable genetic diseases or defects.  Minor health illnesses and health issues such as colds, allergies, internal or external parasites or umbilical hernias are excluded.  We will always disclose to you any known illnesses or health issues prior to sale (though this is extremely rare).  In the unfortunate event that the puppy has passed away in your care within the 1-year period due to any illness caused by us (the Breeder), you will have the option to be refunded the purchase price (minus non-refundable deposit) or to select another puppy when one is available, as long as the puppy has not been injured or neglected by you.

Return-to-Breeder

If for any reason, you are unable to care for the puppy at any stage of its life, we will take the dog back to live with us at our home, at no charge to you.  To ensure the best possible home for the puppy, they are not for resale.  We always retain first right of refusal.

Vaccinations & De-worming

All of our dogs & puppies are treated regularly for worms; however, puppies need to continue treatment as preventative measures.  Each puppy is given age-appropriate vaccinations before being placed in a home.  We use Combination Vaccines (5-way booster without leptospirosis) at 6 and 8 weeks of age.  Puppies are dewormed (Safeguard) at 2.5, 3.5, 4.5, 6 and 8 weeks of age.  A Safeguard Power Dose is given to puppies at 6 weeks.  A records are transferred to you at time of sale.

Food

Changing your puppy's food may cause your puppy to get an upset stomach and loose stool.  This can lead to dehydration & illness for your puppy.  Please make sure to mix the new food with your puppy's regular food & ease it into the new to lessen the chance fo any of this.  Your puppy has been eating Diamond Natural Small Breed Puppy Food.  If you choose to change your puppy's food, please make sure you switch to one that is high in protein & fat for the first year.  This is essential to your puppy getting the right balance of nutrients as they grow into healthy adult dogs.
